35% PEROX-AID® is a 35% Aquaculture grade hydrogen peroxide product that received FDA approval for use in aquaculture in January 2007. Prior to this, the FDA listed hydrogen peroxide as a Low Regulatory Priority (LRP) drug which allowed for the use of most any type of hydrogen peroxide. This has changed and currently 35% PEROX-AID® is the only hydrogen peroxide product which is FDA approved for use on fish. (see notices above, also see our "News" page). 35% PEROX-AID^® (Aquaculture Grade Hydrogen Peroxide) is manufactured by Eka Chemicals, a business unit within AkzoNobel, which is an innovative world leading developer and manufacturer of specialty chemical products. Western Chemical is pleased to be Eka's exclusive distributor of 35% PEROX-AID^® in the United States. The product is available in Canada through Syndel Laboratories.

35% PEROX-AID^® (Aquaculture Grade Hydrogen Peroxide) is intended for use as an external microbicide for the control of mortality in freshwater-reared finfish eggs due to saprolegniasis, in freshwater-reared salmonids due to bacterial gill disease (associated with Flavobacterium branchiophilum), and in freshwater-reared coolwater finfish and channel catfish due to external columnaris disease (associated with Flavobacterium columnare [Flexibacter columnaris]). To use 35% PEROX-AID^® to treat additional diseases or additional species not covered on the current label, licensed veterinarians may be able to prescribe a legal extra-label use.  Another option for using 35% PEROX-AID^® for other diseases or species, may be available under INAD # 11-669  - More information on this  INAD can be found at the US Fish & Wildlife Service AADAP office located in Bozeman Montana.
