Virkon® Aquatic is a disinfectant and virucide that is effective against viruses, bacteria, and fungi. It is intended to disinfect inanimate environmental surfaces associated with aquaculture including vehicles, nets, boots, waders, dive suits, hoses, brushes and other similar equipment. Virkon® Aquatic may also be used in foot baths.

VIRKON® AQUATIC has been available in the United States since April of 2007. It contains the same active ingredients as Virkon®-S but with changes in inert ingredients that make it more appropriate for use in Aquaculture. There are many disinfectants that kill pathogens but there are few that are specifically designed for, and EPA approved for use in aquaculture. The Virkon® Aquatic label (see label above) is extensive and specifically addresses the approved uses for aquaculture. The use of other disinfectants (such as those designed for hospitals or agriculture facilities) may not be the best choice for aquaculture facilities and in some cases may actually violate state or federal regulations.

Virkon® Aquatic is EPA approved (except in California where EPA approval is in process).
