The Virkon® Powder Mixer is also known as the CMU-701 "make down" unit (patent pending). It is designed to automatically mix Virkon® powder disinfectant into various solution strengths. It's innovative design allows the user to precisely, and safely mix Virkon® Aquatic powder into solution with minimal exposure to the powder.

Why use a mixing unit? - As stated in the Virkon® Aquatic MSDS, once Virkon® Aquatic powder is mixed with water into a working solution strength (typically 1.0%) Virkon® Aquatic is not considered an eye or skin irritant.  This important worker safety feature, combined with it's wide range of proven efficacy,  makes Virkon® Aquatic one of the most popular disinfectants available today for use in Aquaculture. The Virkon® Powder Mixer (CMU-701) will conveniently mix Virkon® Aquatic powder into solutions of .5, 1.0, 2.0,  or 3.0% concentration.

The Virkon® Powder Mixer (CMU-701) is available in wall mounted, countertop, farm and vehicular models for mixing Virkon® Aquatic powder into solution.

At the touch of a button, the Virkon® Powder Mix (CMU-701) uses a cyclonic mixer which quickly dissolves the disinfectant powder into water which is then dispensed to fill any size container. The unit uses several new design concepts, which accurately and consistently dispenses Virkon® solutions in multiple concentrations. This reduces the possibility of worker exposure to the powder. The desired solution concentration is selected by means of a numeric indicator and upon activation the Virkon® Powder Mixer (CMU-701) dispenses the desired solution strength at a flow rate of  1.5 gal/min. Western Chemical has been suppling Virkon® Aquatic powder disinfectant in North American since it was first introduced in the Spring of 2007. Some of our customers have been developing protocols for mixing Virkon powder into into working solutions.
